Typical! Well, I'll just relish the bit of free time until the real, proper exams come in June - the dreaded A-LEVELS!! I don't see the point in even bothering going into school on a Wednesday. Free periods for half the day and for once no work to do. Still, early-morning coffee and gossip sessions in the common room lead to some interesting discussions. Alison reveals a pierced tongue - looks bloody painful - and clandestine cigarette break in the corner of the room starts a mini-bonfire. Top tip for covering up black scorch mark on window: white out - works like a charm. Just hope that no one picks it off... Lessons very uneventful. Morning I have General Studies, the eternally maligned doss exam, which isn't entirely true. Anyway, exam result pleases, a Good Thing, so panic on this front can be postponed. Well, at least until the real thing. Liz and I can't face any more mystery food in the school canteen, so we head to that place of gourmet culinary delights - Macdonald's. Yes I know cholesterol will kill me but I don't care! Hey, my driving will probably kill me first. I have a lesson after school and I'm getting better. Perfect left reverse, a successful hill start and gear changes really smooth. Though my knackered old Ford Fiesta is making dodgy noises. Dad suspects a number of things, including a dead clutch and a generally old car that struggles a lot. Isabel, my instructor says I can think about putting in for my test in the coming weeks - scary, but very cool. Watch out roads of northern England... next > |
