There’s a great big thing in my head at the moment – all conceptual and wiggling – that I’ve been trying to write all day. So far, no luck. I’m stuck about two-thirds of the way through. So to pass the time, here’s a few links from around the web that I’ve been meaning to write up for ages.
- Not only has Cal redesigned, but he’s also put in place a wide variety of CSS skins. You can now get your Cal experience in kottke, b3ta or plasticbag flavours…
- Next month at the ICA: Grant Morrison in Conversation. From the programme, “The night kicks off with Morrison in conversation. The discussion will focus on the form, content and history of comic books.”
- Along the lines of my BBC On this Day feature comes Macdaraconroy’s Word of the Day bar using Movable Type date formatting to make the link.
- Co-inspiration for much of my initial enthusiasm with web stuff, Derek Powazek has just redesigned fray.com. It’s a really nice new look – my only anxiety being that the colour scheme seems coincidentally to suit the most recent entry on the site. I don’t know how good it will look with more disparate material…
- I got Freeview! At home! Extra channels of mostly mediocre less-than-yummy not-very-goodness, but a few (BBC3, BBC4, BBC News 24) definitely worth the price of the box. And no monthly fee. Good job.
- And finally… Blah, blah, blah, weapons of mass destruction, New X-men 2 trailer, good commentary on the lazyweb, Dan Hon on the Inflection Point, Ceci n’est ce pas une potato…
