I’m quite sure its science content is very accurate, it’s the political and social stuff where people start throwing in opinions or even blatant lies. I use wikipedia all the time, just to satisfy my own interest, but I would never trust it for serious research.
I guess this ties in with the ‘blogs’ versus ‘journalism’ debate. Blogs are a very empowering way to communicate however given that there’s no accountability, how can what you read be trusted?
Although, while traditionally journalism has been seen as a profession obsessed with the objective reporting of facts – lately we have seen that even they are less trusted these days.
Wikipedia is about as accurate on science as the Encyclopedia Britannica? Having looked at both I will first concur then praise Einstein (A sientist) I use neither 😉
